COMMITTEES

In order to effectively and comprehensively execute the provisions of the compact, the committee established three sub-committees to deal with different areas of our campus community. The committee also works with various community organizations in order to promote diversity and anti-racism issues in the community.

Faculty:
The core mission of this sub-committee is to envision a support group for faculty members of color and for those who teach diversity courses and deal with diversity issues on-campuses. The sub-committee has hosted various networking and roundtable events over the last two years. These events have given ALL faculty members at member institutions an opportunity to discuss diversity and anti-racism issues in the classroom and on-campus.

Student Life:
The core mission of this sub-committee is to facilitate various training and related forums where student leaders from member institution can discuss diversity and anti-racism issues at the campus and come up with meaningful solutions to these issues. The student leaders also receive training on how to deal with these issues and act as an on-campus voice on these issues. They are also expected to train other students on campus to be voices of diversity and anti-racism issues. The sub-committee has hosted various training sessions over the last two years and has successfully produced competent student leaders on-campus.

Senior Administrators:
This sub-committee’s core mission is to host various training sessions, networking events, workshops on diversity and anti-racism issues for senior administrators at member institutions. Senior administrators include college president, vice-presidents, deans, and directors. These events aim to continuously educate and inform attendees of the impsortance of diversity at their campus and to share resources on how to make our campuses and the community a more diverse place. Over the last two years, the sub-committee has hosted various training sessions and workshops for senior administrators at member institutions.
